Once in a BLUE MOON, once in 3 years, CNBLUE finally returns to our tiny sunny island. 

3 weeks back, the boys held their second performance but first full-fledged concert here in Singapore. 

That very week might just have been the busiest week in my life - I had an event the very night they landed in our world’s-first-class airport, hence I did not go ‘pick them up’ - sorry boys! ㅠㅠ 

JungShin’s the ‘camera-man’ for Singapore’s world tour! 

As a BOICE, I was very privileged to have attended the press conference representing CNBLUESTORM. Read my summary-coverage here. 

Despite running around like a headless chicken, I managed to prepare something in support of the boys and their leg of the world tour here. CNBShin, together with the local fanclub and a fellow fansite, had 2-metre-tall, life-sized banners made and put up in the vicinity. 

The banners attracted crowds even when we were putting them up, even creating a queue to take pictures with it! ㅋㅋㅋ (I shall not touch on how unappreciative some people were)

Eye-feasting banners aside, I also arranged for a congratulatory flower stand as a form of support. The boys sure felt the support from local boices as the stand was brought right to their room at the venue ^^ Below is a picture of the almost-completed flower stand:

These were all that I could manage, although I would have liked to do more, like giving out freebies or organising food support for the boys ㅠㅠ

Regrets aside, the Singapore leg of the BLUE MOON world tour concluded very well, with 8,000 attendees rocking the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The boys had a very good time too, hosting the 2+ hours concert on their own in English (and some Korean now and then). A big applause to them! (박수~)

As a JungShin bias and a lazy BOICE (chuckles), I opted to be on the seated stands, on JS’s side. I was pretty near to the stage, easily less than 10 metres to where he stands playing. So I could see little things that he did, including stepping around his lime-coloured leather shoes in a bid to remove them after a few songs and kicking them off. I thought he would then stay put at his area, wearing only socks. Unpredictable him then started to walk around, even onto the extended stage, in socks only. I went ballistic when I saw him did that. When he got worried if anyone saw his shoeless self, he commented “See, no shoes! Socks only!” Aigooo baby I saw you already lah. LOL

He went on for a few songs, only putting on his usual sneakers after that.

The boys were very happy to be back in Singapore again, dishing out Singlish which they learnt - MinHyuk was the one using it most ㅋㅋㅋ 

Everyone enjoyed themselves very much - the atmosphere was really good and high. A pity that the attendees around me were not hardcore boices or concert-goers. I had to keep my jumping self in check till towards the 3/4 mark of the concert ㅠㅠ I couldn’t care less at the end, and starting jumping like a mad person. I sure did gather some stares from the people around me *shrugs* lol. 

The visual effects and videos produced for this concert was remarkable - FNC made some investments in this it seems. Lots of CG and visual effects used in the videos. Well, I reckon there would bound to be some ROI, afterall this is a world tour - a set of them goes a long way right Mr Han? ㅋㅋㅋ 

The video showcasing the school song YongHwa wrote for CNBLUE School 2 was also shown prior to the concert, gathering tearing eyes and cheers for the boys’ effort and love towards needy children in Africa. 

The stage, shaped like a toilet bowl (ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ), had a Moon Zone in the middle (yes in the toilet bowl ㅋㅋㅋ). JS and YH had lots of fun running around the platforms, though poor JH was confined to his area due to his wired guitars.. ㅠㅠ MH’s elevated platform had the chance to move all the way forward (to where YH was kneeling at the pic below), while YH stands at the opposite end of the extended rounded-platform. When the platform was being retracted back, I remember one of them (YH i think?) trying to “push” it back - silly boys ㅋㅋㅋ 

During “Wake Up”, where we were supposed to echo their chants, JS got ‘angry’ at us not shouting enough. He then playfully scolded us in Korean “If you guys continue to be like this I’m going back”. Then he summarised himself in English “Go back to Korea!” We don’t know to laugh or to cry at his stunt. LOL ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

JS focus during LOVE 

Ad-libs had become a must-have for every concert lately, so YH did a “Special Tonight” edition for Singapore ㅋㅋㅋ 

Apart from ad-libs, seems that requesting to switch on the flood lights is also becoming a line YH says at almost every concert. Perhaps FNC should teach the lighting engineers a line or two of Korean so they can understand poor YH who kept repeating himself ㅠㅠ ㅋㅋㅋ While his hyung is out on the extend platform, JS kept himself occupied with his towel. Cutie pie!! 

The YongShin brothers have officially become the dancing duo, after their stint of retro dance moves to “I’m Sorry”. Check out their synchronised yet impromptu dance moves during the thanking walkabout. 

It has become a norm at concerts to throw soft toys up the stage, hoping the boys will shower some attention to them. YH would never miss/neglect Simpsons - check out him imitating Homer’s voice! 

He also picked up a Rilakkuma (omg!) head gear and put it on. A group of BOICEs prepared a “보고싶었어” (we missed you) paper project - YH looked delightedly touch by the gesture. We almost flinched because the song we were supposed to raise the paper during was not included in the setlist. Nevertheless we were quick to use it at the last song ^^ 

Hear how YH makes his stand of the most fluent speaker of English in CNBLUE. At the concert JS also made his point that he probably comes after YH - he spoke LOADS of English, even pausing to rearrange his sentence etc. Thumbs up boys! 

Excited Shinnie ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

They improved in so many ways, musically, linguistically, adaptability, humility, I can probably find a thousand factors ㅠㅠ Every concert is different, no matter how similar the set list can be. The words they say, the atmosphere, the charm they exude, their gratitude, our love, the perspiration we dripped…….(XD)

To be honest I do not have high expectations of overseas concerts after attending a handful of their performances across Asia (no offense really) as I know and have seen how they feel more at ease in Korea and Japan due to culture and language fit. However they sure did prove me wrong this time with the Singapore leg of BLUE MOON world tour, bringing their overseas performance to another level. 

As a Singaporean BOICE I am glad they had their fun (and fill - read: chilli crab ㅋㅋ) before returning to Korea. 

Below’s my (lousy) fancam that I tried taking when sending them off the next day. 

JS, as usual, was playing ‘games’ with me.. 미워~~~ ㅠㅠ ㅋㅋㅋ Minnnie was nice enough to give acknowledgement to me and my board (though it’s for pabo shin ㅠㅠ)
