Finally at 12 noon tomorrow…….CNBLUE’s song will be released! There is really not much time left now. As it is the first self-composed song in Korea…we are also extremely nervous ㅜ We will repay everyone who has been waiting with a great song. Please look forward to it!!

Took me long enough to start writing this FA. I got ill in Tokyo towards the end of my trip and was ill for quite some time upon returning. Today I finally had the energy and time to pen this entry…
Firstly I would like to give my thanks to Nao chan, who sparked my this wonderful journey to Tokyo, Japan, by inviting me to attend the Come On Arena Tour. It did not strike me that this is possible, and it would not be, if it was not for her. A.ri.ga.to.u Nao chan! <3
So, I attended both days of the Come On Tour Tokyo stop, at the Saitama Super Arena. Having a “super” in the venue’s name was not for no reason - the hall sits up to 36,000 people. That is thrice the maximum capacity of the tiny (in comparison) Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Saitama Super Arena with 5 levels

The tiny-in-comparison Singapore Indoor Stadium with only 3-tiers
Saitama ‘city’ is about 40 minutes away from central Tokyo by train. It was not difficult to get there. I am pretty proud to say that I have conquered Tokyo’s complicated subway system - been there done that! Assa!
Tip: You just have ensure you know these for each ride you take - what line are you taking, in which direction, and what type of train (local, rapid, limited express etc. I gave up counting how many lines and types of trains they have!

The visitors-friendly sign indicating the entrances. The snaking Q beneath it was for the merchandises.

ㅎㅎ my ticket!
I later joined the snaking but fast moving Q to grab the merchandises. I think the BOICEs behind me could have got impatient because I bought a lot XD Below is just half of what I bought (I forgot I had more in the other bag).

CNBLUE Cafe is a sudden add-on merchandise. I only got to know after someone told me on twitter about it. Honestly it tasted like Americano, so I joked that it might have been YongHwa’s idea (since he loves Americano so much lol).
Apart from selling concert merchandises, there was a booth for the egg capsules machines. For 100yen you get to try your luck to see what CNBLUE badge you get in an egg capsule. You can only try once per time, no matter how many 100yen coins you have. Hence I queued twice and gotten myself 2 badges - first time it was CNBLUE and the second JungShin. How fated! ㅋㅋㅋ

I wanted to try again on the second day but it was already sold out :( It was my first time seeing such capsules being available at concert venues, but it seems to be a tradition in Japan as almost all of my jboices friends asked me if i had a go at it ^^
Upon entering the hall, we were given a magazine - there’s loads of CNBLUE stuff in there! To promote them (and their albums). Make money yo. ㅋㅋㅋ

My seat - I was perched on top with a bird’s eye view. Seated steeply on level 4 facing right-smack-in-middle of the stage, I had to calm my tingling nerves which were nudging me about my slight height-issues LOL. I can’t really remember about the level 3s, but level 4 and 5 are literally tiny balconies protruding out of the walls of the arena hall. (My ticket for day 2 was on the 1st floor - the arena)

I found this image on Google, and this person appeared to be sitting on level 3. Imagine the steepness on level 4 and 5 lol.
Scariness aside, the view I had when the lights dimmed was spectacular. The whole hall was dotted with different coloured lightsticks (can we blame FNC for making the official lightstick multi-coloured and not just blue? XD). The dizziness I felt for a few seconds when the lights went out marks the start of the 2 hour awesomeness.
Here’s the set-list, courtesy of @mi_malice:
Encore:
*Day 2 encore had Heartstrings as an extra song, with all members singing!
When I was in Seoul last December for BLUESTORM Encore, I had the chance to be standing beneath’s JungShin’s nose in the standing pit, hence being able to notice some small actions of his which were not captured by camera and on screen. This time round, having a birds eye view gave me another perspective - able to see what are all the members doing at the same time.
It has been so long since the concert that I couldn’t remember what happened each day, so I will just give a breakdown of bits I remember:
As I wanted to enjoy my concert experience to the fullest possible, I purposely steered clear of fan accounts of the previous stops of the arena tour. Hence I was ecstatic when all members sang Blue Sky and Teardrops in the Rain.
It started off with a member walking down the extended stage, and each of them just walked and sang their parts. I WANTED TO CRY WHEN I HEARD JUNGSHIN SING!!! ㅠㅠ This boy had practiced and improved so much that he sings with such confidence now. He even took on the challenge of a high-pitched ad-lib in Teardrops in the Rain. It almost became Teardrops in Saitama for me. ㅠㅠ
The boys mentioned in interviews/tv and promised not to just sing the whole concert away but to have interaction and a good time with BOICEs, so they arranged a short talk and ad-lib portion on the extended stage. They came up with a song impromptu and named it the GyuDon Song. For those who have no idea what is a GyuDon, below is a kind of grilled GyuDon I ate after the concert lol.

On the second night, they did not stick to the GyuDon Song. Instead, they sang about the many famous foods/snacks of the cities they toured in for this Come On arena tour, including Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, GyuDon, and of course Tebasaki (chicken wings), which they eventually named the song after. LOL.
For the last song (before encore), in theme with the song title Time is Over, the screen was showing a large digital clock, counting down to the end of the song. We then spent minutes after the song shouting and clapping for encore. And when the encore started, the timer started to climb from zero. So at the end we could see how long the encore was. (The second day’s encore was longer than the first. One of it was over 40 minutes long)
For the second day we demanded for a second encore, for a special end to the very last day of the arena tour. And we got our wish. They performed Heartstrings to our delights (I jumped around like mad during that song lol).
A concert would always end with things falling from the top. But never did I thought the streamers descending from above were SO intricate. Each was printed to commemorate this special event.

Did you think the boys did not expect the second encore on the second day? Not really. Because a very limited amount of these fell from the ceiling (the streamers fell before the encore already) even before Heartstrings ended. I spent the last minute of the song distracted and trying to grab one of these lol.

That is about all I could remember. Gosh it took me HOURS to write this on my not cooperating computer. Such a painful and sweet process as I revisit the memories..
Attending the boys’ Japan concert was a big dream of mine, and this trip to Tokyo allowed me to tick another item off my CN wishlist.
People asked me “Why do you fly to different countries watch their concerts? Aren’t they the same?” My answer is a big NO. The atmosphere in their Japan and Korea concerts are different. Their Japanese jokes are to die laughing for (I had my fill laughing throughout the Saitama concerts). It is just different, all in all. I have never regretted flying overseas to watch their concerts, for they never fail to impress and amaze me with their voices, their music, their effort, their breakthroughs, and of course, for being themselves.
~~~
Oh, on the second day of concert, a group of jboices ‘celebrated’ JungShin’s birthday over a lunch gathering. Check out the cake. ㅋㅋ
Thank you to all those who have helped me in an way or another for this concert or this trip - a.ri.ga.to.u! And a big thank you to the boices whom I have met, especially those who share their hand-made CNgoodies with me - super cute and thoughtful! Apologies to BOICEs who did not receive anything from me (because I didn’t expect to be meeting so many people!) ㅠㅠ I will try to be more prepared for BLUENIGHT, so friends please come claim your little gift! ㅋㅋㅋ
Till then…
I still have my One Ok Rock FA to write… 헐~
